The Day in Afghanistan and Iraq

About

Today, roughly 130,000 service men and women will wake up in Iraq.   Nearly another 70,000 will greet the day from Afghanistan.

The day-to-day happenings in Iraq and Afghanistan have long since left the front page and receded in the public consciousness.  Today at War has a simple aim: offer you a quick, daily update on the events and politics shaping the two wars.

Unlike other websites and blogs, this site only has one-way communication.  There are no comments.  A robust debate about both wars is vital, but it does not have to be everywhere at all times.  Today at War is a place where you can get information to help form your own opinion — free of the rhetoric of any persuasion.

To all of those currently serving and to those who have family members in harm’s way, thank you.  Freedom is not free and you have sacrificed in ways hard to comprehend and impossible to justly reward.
